Nail Disorders & Burring Techniques

This interactive half-day workshop focuses on the different nail conditions that commonly present in clinical practice. It provides an opportunity to look at their management including the safe and clinically effective methods of burring and reducing nails that one can adopt in clinical practice.

 

What will I learn?

  • Anatomy and physiology of the nail

  • Different nail pathologies including involution, onychocryptosis, onychomycosis, leuconychia, onycholysis and nail atrophy amongst many others...

  • The different treatment approaches in nail pathologies

  • A greater awareness of the different medicaments, tools and burrs available and how these could be used to manage commonly presenting nail disorders

  • Different practical holding and burring techniques including safety considerations 

  • Practical experience in the use of different burrs available
