Description:
This half-day interactive workshop explores patients at risk of developing diabetes, the potential effects of diabetes on the lower limb, and the different presentations of wounds and ulcers, including their immediate management and the significance of enhanced diabetic foot care and advice.
What will I learn?
A greater appreciation as to how diabetes can impact on both general health and the lower limb. You will have the opportunity to consolidate management considerations of commonly occurring foot pathologies including wounds and ulcers. You will gain a deeper understanding of the factors that can potentially impact on normal healing, and have the opportunity to appraise different dressings available in wound management. You will develop a deeper appreciation for a multidisciplinary team approach in the management of the high risk foot.
